Mana Wahine Resource

Late last year we received some funding for our incarcerated wahine. However due to staffing shortages and extended lock downs we were unable to provide the in real life yoga classes we originally planned to deliver so we had to get creative and decided to create a wahine specific resurce for our wahine inside and also those connected to anyone inside...so all the partners, daughters, mums, grandmas, aunties, cousins and friends of our men doing yoga inside can now access this free 24 page booklet, our beginners booklet and a free yoga nidra from our website.

This has been a fantastic co creation of many beautiful energies including some tane from Hawkes Bay prison contributing the artwork.

We acknowledge Nga iwi maori - ancestors and guardians of the land, yogis and seers who have preserved the ancient knowledge of healing and living in accordance with the laws of nature. Atmavidya and Adhyatma for content development with additional editing support from Amy Bassett - Ngāi Tūhoe, Rongowhakaata,  Linsey Ann Smith -Te Arawa- Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Rangiwewehi ngā iwi. Most beautiful photography and graphic design by Catherine Adams of Wonderbird Design.  We are very grateful to our willing volunteer model Keryn Aroha Jones - Te Aupouri, Ngai Takoto, Ngāti Kahu, Te Rarawa, Ngāpuhi.
.
And lastly to Manatu Wahine -  Ministry for Women for their patience in supporting this project to fruition.

To all wahine;
Yoga teaches us that, no matter who or where we are, no matter what we have done, and no matter what has been done to us, we are worthy. We may lose sight of that worthiness and as a result may suffer or cause others to suffer greatly, but we never become unworthy.
The practice of Yoga is designed to remind us who we truly are and to allow us to take part in our own healing.

If you are reading this and have a friend or whanau member inside please do reach out for this resource.
